Library Services

Renaissance University Library is a very young library with a mission of providing the collections, services, and environments to support and strengthen the teaching, learning and research activities of the Renaissance University Ugbawka. Its primary goal is to build a collection that supports the needs if the academic programs programs of the University. The library staff also recognizes its responsibility of providing accesses to bibliographic information, and when feasible. Electronic resources to support scholarly activities when the materials themselves are not part of the library collection. Registered users of the library are allowed access to the carried resources in the circulations section, reference section, serial section and the virtual library. Internet access through local area networks and wireless connectivity runs non-stop in the virtual library laboratory which is equipped with modern high speed computers.

Library Collections

The library has a growing collection of books, periodicals and audio-visual resources needed for academics, research purposes and for intellectual consumption. These materials are organized using the Library of Congress Classification Scheme and Subject Headings. The following categories of materials are available in the library:

  • A collection of books on various subjects, whether general or specific.
  •  Books for voluntary and recreational reading mostly fiction materials.
  • Standard reference materials such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, maps atlases etc.
  • Periodicals i.e. journals, magazines and newspapers.
  • Audio-visual resources and equipments. These included picture, films, graphs, slides, Charts, CD-ROM etc.
  • Pamphlets and Ephemeral materials such as newspaper and magazine clippings.
  • Archival materials concerning the institution.

    The library is committed to meeting user needs through its collections, documents delivery interlibrary loan, or electronic resources. It provides the following services and others that may be deemed necessary by the University Libertarian:

  • Compilation of Bibliographies

  • Displays and Exhibitions of newly acquired materials or special collections.

    Opening Hours

    The library is open to users long enough to ensure full and maximum exploitation of its resources and facilities. Renaissance University Library is open to users as follows:
    MONDAY-FRIDAY                      8:00AM -8:00PM
    LENDING HOURS                       9:00AM – 4:00PM
    SATURDAY                                10:00AM-6:00PM
